The Supreme Court Middle Income Group Legal Aid Society [MIG Society] is a Society registered under the Societies Registration Act. Under the Rules and Regulations of the Society, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India nominates a Hon’ble Sitting Judge of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to be the President of the MIG Society. The Ld. Attorney General for India is the ex-officio Vice President of the MIG Society. The Society has been functioning since 1994 and has provided legal aid to thousands of litigants till date.

The Supreme Court Middle Income Group Legal Aid Society provides legal aid to citizens whose gross income is less than Rs.12,00,000/- per annum at a very reasonable cost of Rs.15,000/- payable in advance through a demand draft in favour of the “Supreme Court Middle Income Group Legal Aid Society”. This Scheme is called the Supreme Court Middle Income Group Legal Aid Society Scheme.

The Legal Aid is provided only for cases which are to be filed in Hon’ble Supreme Court or where the litigants wish to defend a matter in the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
